Bacteria Identification Made Easy

The app has a very simple design with the designer ensuring that there is nothing complicated about its interface or its display. The app introduces the designer on its landing page and you can tap on the "Continue" button in order to get to the app's main menu. The menu itself is divided into two sections. The first section details information about the gram stains with details available for both gram positive and gram-negative bacteria. There is also an "Others" section where bacteria not falling in the gram positive or gram-negative category are present for further study. The second section is called Miscellaneous. This section is, according to the app itself, not up-to date but still contains basic information about "Biochemical Tests", "Medically Important Bacteria", "Bacterial Cell Wall Differences" and "Gram Stain Technique". The main page also has a note section where it is clearly stated that the app can be used offline as well. However, the designer does not take any responsibility for the information turning out to be inaccurate. This might be concerning but this is probably just to avoid any legal complications and the data present on the app can be used for educational purposes. It is however, important, to verify the data with another source if you would be using the information for any critical task.

The main categories are further sub-divided before you can take a look at the information. For instance, when you would tap on "Gram Positive", you would be provided a small write-up on gram positive bacteria before further links to "Gram Positive Cocci (Aerobe)", "Gram Positive Cocci (Anaerobe)" and "Gram Positive Bacilli". Tapping on any of these bacteria would show you how to perform the test needed to confirm the sub-type of the bacteria. For instance, in Gram Positive Cocci (Aerobe), a Catalase Test positive would indicate the bacteria to be Micrococcus or Staphylococcus while a Catalase Test negative would indicate Streptococcus. Further information on Micrococcus or Streptococcus can be obtained by tapping on them. After you have done your study, you can then tap on the "Back" button for step-wise return to the main page or you can tap on the "Home" button in order to go to the landing page.
